Hello,
I am Fabrizia, born and raised in Italy and restless expat for the last twenty years of my life. I came to Senegal for work, I decided to stay for a while and then love struck me and, you know… I love this country even though it’s not always easy to live here, I love Senegalese people even though I often don’t understand them. What is important is to stay upbeat in a life full of the unpredictable, kids, African family matters and general mess.
I write about anything and everything, mostly about what I like, what makes me smile and think, what I love and hate, what keeps me in this country after ten years. Always a bit of stranger in this land that loves me so much, I will tell you about mybeautifulsenegal: little extraordinary and yet universal stories.
I was born and raised in Italy, where I lived until I turned 30. I lived my early and mid 30’s in New York, a brief but major pit stop in Paris and then I dropped anchor in Dakar, Senegal. Journalist by training, telling stories has been a job and a passion for more than twenty years. I am Afro-enthusiast but also critic, I am a wife, a mom, a stepmom, an aunty and a sister (in a random order). I have four cats, I live in a big white house and I often miss my family back in Turin, Italy.
